The Rev. J. Brad Benson
Father Benson has been the pastor (also called "rector") of St. Thomas since 2005. He received his M.Div. from Bexley Hall in Rochester in 2001. Prior to seminary, his first career was in college administration, working in continuing education at Syracuse University. His other college training includes degrees in art history and museum studies (specialty in architectural history). A native of Wyoming, Fr. Benson was raised in the Presbyterian Church. He was first drawn to the Episcopal Church during his undergraduate years, while serving as the organist at St. Matthew's Episcopal Cathedral in Laramie, WY.
His passions include being the spiritual doorman for those new to the Christian faith and helping people realize and exercise their God-given gifts. He enjoys preaching and helping the parish to greatly expand its outreach to the community including facilitating our Community Gardens, Bath Community Outreach Forum and other programs.
